viewing area. it does include the metro area in parts of virginia and maryland. so let's go to the doppler 7 radar. the temperatures shown in yellow. notice the yellow and the red on the radar? the very heavy rainfall clipping fairfax county. it is going to cross over the potomac and into frederick county and then hagerstown as well momentarily this morning. otherwise, a few spotty, light showers going on the high temperature about 83, becoming less humid. we'll dry out and have a fair amount of sunshine. more rainfall later this week. >> while you were sleeping there was a crash on the interloop ramp to eisenhower avenue. they are out there now repairing the guardrail so you'll mind exit ramp closed for the next 10-15 minutes. you'll find everything in your favor on the greenway, route 29 and even 270. not bad. more to come on the traffic side. we'll have the latest information from metro rail. last we heard, first trains in normal service. >> our top story now, a 2-year-old boy fighting for his life after accidentally shooting himself in the chest. and now two teenagers are facing charge

and thunderstorms extend from here all the way into the carolinas. the center is in west virginia. you cannot see it better on the satellite imagery. the circulation is there -- you can see better on the satellite imagery. you can see some breaks in the overcast in virginia. i think we will get some sun this afternoon. the evening commute will be much better than the morning commute. this system will push off over the next six to 12 hours. there is another front waiting in the wings at the great lakes. it will come through wednesday night with another chance for rain showers. upper 60's and low 70's right now. relatively mild for this time of the morning in september. we should make it to around 80 this afternoon. showers and thunderstorms this morning and clearing. partly cloudy tonight. temperatures drop back into the low 60's. most of tomorrow will be dry. there could be some rain coming back wednesday night and during the day on thursday. friday night into saturday morning, we could see another round of rain showers. we wind up with the chilly weather with highs in the 60's and overnight lows

there in west virginia. that's the upper level low pressure system making its way northward very quickly. a few tornado warnings this morning of washington county, allegheny county and maryland. it's ju left with a few clouds right now. rain returns to the area, probably starting wednesday night. 78 degrees right now in sterling, 82 degrees right now in the district. georgetown and folks in largo right now at 81 degrees. you dropped one degree. montgomery county right now 81. we'll see clouds leave the area, 68 degrees, but 11: p.m. we're talking about some more tropical rains getting up into our area. that will come from this system right here, which cou be tropical storm nicole, that will be bringing a lost rain tthe area. for the overnight, the evening, our winds diminish, more of those tropical rains comehis way, we'll talk about the amounts expected for the area, 2 to 3 inchesn top of what we've gotten, and it will be a lot more down south too. all that and more coming newspaper a few. >>> a man in charles unty, mashld was r maryland, was rescued from a deep well at a sewage treatment plan

from central virginia right now. overnight, expect more showers and a few claps of thunder. we do have a flood threats continuing, however. a couple of different varieties year. it could fled low-lying areas south of the bay. it is a coastal flood warning. southerly winds have pushed the water into the bay. the thais who run it 2 feet above normal. the potential is there for some minor court moderate coastal flooding. over an inch of rain at the airport so far. temperatures were above normal today, even with the rain. they're holding in the 70's right now. 73, downtown baltimore. that contrasts between monday tropical air in the east and colorful air in the west. that boundary will continue to generate some showers as we had to sunrise. you can see the warmer air over the mid atlantic. cooler air is west of the mountains. the warm front triggered some small -- some large storms earlier today. until they can pass through here, we have the chance for more rain. a little bit of an unsettled pattern for a couple more days. shoppers in the morning, then some breaks in the clouds. here comes

in the baltimore out of virginia and north carolina. at this point in time it's not in here yet. we think there could be more heavy downpours and we have had so urain, two and a quarter inch muchs in manchester and close to an inch everywhere else. that's what we are watching for with this. we are looking at a generally clear night. at the moment 71, humidity 93% and winds south at three. pressure falling. temperatures not that bad but so humid. you can almost cut it with a knife. probably will see fog toward daybreak. really muggy conditions. the humidity numbers high. dew points up around 70. that'so pressive and that will help fuel showers and storms. take you out wider perspective. here is the weather maker. centered over north of atlanta georgia. it's still getting up a lot of atlantic moisture and a lot of rain. i don't think we will see severe storms but we will see heavy downpours through the overnight. we could still see some rain -- we should dry out in to the afternoon. maybe even get the sun out. up around 80 and then into wednesday a dry start but the chance for more rain to
